Annelies Vredeveldt appointed Professor of Legal Psychology

We are happy to announce that our Director, Annelies Vredeveldt, has been appointed Full Professor of Legal Psychology at VU Amsterdam from the 1st of March 2025. She was selected for the prestigious Fenna Diemer-Lindeboom chair and will be the first ever female Professor of Legal Psychology in The Netherlands.

Prof. Vredeveldt: “As Professor of Legal Psychology, I will continue to expand the role of legal psychology at the VU, both in terms of education and in fostering collaborations with legal practice. My colleagues and I will continue to strengthen the position of the Amsterdam Laboratory for Legal Psychology, one of the largest legal psychology groups in the Netherlands. In my research in the coming years, I will focus on the influence of cultural biases in the justice process.”

Prof. Vredeveldt’s inaugural lecture will take place on Thursday the 13th of November at 15:45 in the Aula of VU Amsterdam.
